The Surveys feature in Wrenly allows for effective data collection and feedback from employees. This guide outlines how admins and managers can create, manage, and analyze surveys, along with the available AI capabilities and reporting options.


How to use Surveys


For admins and mangers

  1. To create a new survey, follow these steps:
    1. Access Survey Creation: Go to Create a New Survey.
    2. Add Questions: Customize your survey questions with the following options:
      • Answer Format: Choose between open-ended or multiple choice.
      • Required/Optional: Specify whether respondents must answer the question.
      • Multiple Answers: Allow for multiple responses per question.
      • Optional Context: Provide an additional context field for more details.
      • Question Management: Duplicate, edit, delete, or rearrange questions as needed.
    3. Set Audience: Determine who will participate in the survey. You can select users, groups, or channels accessible to your audience. Managers can only choose options available to them.
    4. Survey Settings:
      • Anonymity: Decide if the survey will be anonymous or non-anonymous.
      • Mandatory/Optional: Make the survey mandatory for completion or optional.
      • Email Reminders: Set up email reminders for participants.
      • Public URL: Generate a shareable public URL to gather responses from outside the organization.
      • Scheduling: Choose to make the survey recurring at customizable intervals or send it just once. You can also schedule the survey for a later date or send it immediately.
    5. Survey Details: Add a title and description for your survey.
    6. Announcement: Send an announcement message with an image or GIF when the survey is published.
    7. Save as Draft: Optionally, save the survey as a draft to edit later.
    8. Question Bank: Utilize the Wrenly AI question bank for pre-defined survey questions across various categories.
  2. Share Surveys: Send surveys outside your team using a public URL after publishing.
  3. Reminder Notifications: Send follow-up reminders to encourage audience participation.
  4. Reuse Format: Create a new survey by reusing an existing survey format.
  5. Close or Recall Surveys: Close the survey to prevent further responses or recall it entirely.
  6. Archive Surveys: Keep surveys in an archived state for future reference.
  7. Manage Responses: Share survey responses with “Survey Managers” who will only see data from user groups assigned to them.
  8. Resend to Failed Recipients: Re-dispatch surveys to individuals who did not receive them.
  9. Integrate a single-question survey during Feedback Fridays to monitor engagement over time.
  10. Onboarding Surveys
    • Automated Surveys for New Joiners: Set up automated onboarding surveys to be sent to new employees.
    • Templates: Use ready-made templates such as "30 Day Kickstart Feedback," "60 Day Integration Insights," and "90 Day Performance and Pathway" to track employee integration and engagement.
    • Custom Intervals: You can create custom surveys to be sent at specific intervals.

Data and Reports

  • Survey Management: Access all surveys through the admin dashboard at Survey Management.
  • Filtering Options: Admins can filter surveys based on type (draft, live, scheduled, closed, recalled, archived) or recurrence type (one-off, recurring, all).
  • Monitoring Response Rates: Track survey response rates and analyze results.
  • Survey Insights:
    • All responses received.
    • Chart analysis of responses, including total answers and completion percentage.
    • Distribution of answers for multiple-choice questions.
    • Responses analyzed by user groups.
    • Heatmap categorization of responses by user groups.
    • Leadership can reply to survey answers.
    • Recurring surveys allow for longitudinal analysis to track changes over time.
